Cancun adds adventure to its to-do list with these 7 attractions

This zoo offers more than a look at wildlife, giving guests the chance to actually interact with coatis, spidermonkeys, snakes, deer, and crocodiles. Adventurous visitors even have the chance to feed or hold some of the animals.
One of Cancun’s newest attractions, Xoximilco is home to nearly five miles of canal that span 140 acres of jungle. Travelers can enjoy evening fiesta cruises on the canals, complete with live mariachi music and local cuisine.
The underground rivers here make it a great destination for soft adventure seekers. Travelers can swim, snorkel, and even float down the rivers, which are part of a large underground cave system, to see unique rock formations and marine fossils.

More than 500 sunken sculptures rest under the water off Cancun’s coast. Visitors can dive, snorkel, or take a glass-bottom boat to view the artwork, which was designed by Jason de Caires Taylor. In addition to being beautiful, the artwork serves an environmental purpose, providing protection for marine life.
