Get a preview of the African country at home with Botswana Tourism’s new online program

Chobe National Park in Botswana has the highest concentration of elephants in Africa, a count estimated at 70,000.
U.S. travel agents aren’t the only ones who can benefit from Botswana Tourism’s recently refreshed website and newly launched online education program. Though the resources lodged under the eLearning program are aimed at the trade, they are also accessible to travelers through the OTT (Online Travel Training) website. Meant to educate agents on the country’s rich culture and history in order to confidently and knowledgeably sell it as a travel destination, the vibrant videos are likely to entice you to book a seat on the first flight available.

Six different digital modules cover the landlocked country’s various regions (as well as practical travel tips), but the two-minute introduction alone will give you the itch to travel. Sitting just north of South Africa, with a flat landscape that consists of 70% desert, Botswana is one of the world’s most sparsely populated countries. Animals abound though, and footage of its dramatic landscape and splendid wildlife are interspersed with written descriptors like “exciting,” “intimate,” and “rare,” set to rhythmic music. By the end, you can do just as the final slide suggests: imagine yourself here. Consider the Botswana Tourism board’s job done.
