Located in the lush rainforest of the Mamanuca Islands, the private-island resort remains dedicated to preserving the environment, which also includes white sand beaches and vibrant coral reefs. This preservation philosophy extends to Castaway’s operations, including responsible snorkeling instruction and sustainable cuisine.
The property’s individual bures (huts) include 27 island, 12 oceanview and 27 beach accommodation options that can sleep up to four people. Exteriors have a traditional style, while interiors feature a high vaulted, cloth-lined ceiling, fans and air conditioning, as well as a spacious and natural ambiance.
Castaway Island is, of course, the perfect place for water activities, and all non-motorized activities are inclusive. Options at the resort include snorkeling, kayaking, paddleboarding, parasailing and jet skiing. The island is also a popular diving spot, with access to 30 dive sites within 20 minutes from the resort.
There are four main dining venues at Castaway, serving renowned island cuisine. Options range from the main buffet, Waters Edge Restaurant; to the family pool, bar and grill at Nuku Marau; wood-fired pizza and salad bar at Sundowner Bar; and Lali Sandbar, offering Fijian Asian dining for lunch and dinner.
Cataway’s friendly staff round out the experience at the resort, introducing themselves to each newcomer and greeting guests by name, in the true spirit of Fijian hospitality.
