Why should first-class passengers have all the fun? Delta Air Lines, America’s number one domestic airline, has upped the ante on air travel thanks to new perks for economy passengers. Hello, hot towels! Expect to be impressed with Delta’s reinvented international Main Cabin experience beginning in November 2019.

Free “Welcome Aboard” Bellini cocktails, made of sparkling wine infused with peach puree, kick off the flight. Mix and match options for premium appetizers and larger enterers, and yes, hot towels are all part of a higher standard. “This is about investing in every single customer who chooses Delta, no matter where they sit on the plane,” says Allison Ausband, Delta’s Senior Vice President—In-Flight Service. “The thoughtful touches we’re investing in throughout the new Main Cabin experience were designed by flight attendants with one goal in mind; delivering an exceptional experience that our customers will rave about and one that our team, the best in business, is proud to deliver.”

Designed to deliver “wow” moments, much like dining in your favorite splurge restaurants, Delta’s revamped Main Cabin experience has been met with increased customer satisfaction scores on more than the 700 test flights over the past year. From larger entrees showcasing new recipes like the Harissa Shrimp, down to the chocolates delivered upon descent, the new features have been enthusiastically received.

Not flying international? You will still see significant upgrades. Delta is tripling choices for customers on its 12 domestic coast-to-coast routes which offer free meals in the Main Cabin. The company will increase the variety of complimentary meal options from six to 18. Highlights from the new menus include: a cheese plate with cheese from the popular Murray’s Cheese Store in New York City, Luvo Harissa Roasted Veggie Wrap, Greek Meze Plate, Sesame Noodle Salad and more.

In addition to dining enhancements, Delta has upgraded Main Cabin snacks, free in-flight entertainment and on long haul international flights; complimentary beer, wine, and spirits for customers over 21 years of age. And when you’re ready to close your eyes, just reach for your sleep kit. If you prefer to stay awake during your flight, there will be no shortage of entertainment options.

Beginning October 1, 2019, Delta Air Lines will become the first U.S. global carrier to offer free mobile messaging, providing more customers access to free messaging than any other carrier, so passengers can stay connected with friends and family on the ground. The company is also taking steps towards offering free Wi-Fi. “Customers are accustomed to having access to free Wi-Fi during nearly every other aspect of their journey, and Delta believes it should be free when flying, too,” said Ekrem Dimbiloglu, Director of Onboard Product. “Testing will be key to getting this highly complex program right – this takes a lot more creativity, investment and planning to bring to life than a simple flip of a switch.”

From take-off to touch down, flying has never bee more fun, thanks to the new enhancement on Delta Air Lines. After all, it’s the little things that make the biggest difference.
