Program for electric car rentals offers a new option for travelers

Through the program, Enterprise rents out Nissan Leaf plug-in electric vehicles from its Orlando International Airport location. The cost of renting the electric vehicles is approximately the same as renting a mid-size, gas-powered vehicle.
The benefit to travelers renting an electric vehicle is that many hotels offer free charging and free valet, including the Peabody Orlando and Renaissance Orlando. In addition, Orlando has approximately 300 charging stations in the metro area, many of which are free to use.
Approximately 30 hotel partners in the Orlando area have joined the initiative, as well as Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando and SeaWorld – all of which will have charging stations available.
Drive Electric Orlando is a partnership between Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Sabre, hotels, and theme parks in Orlando and the Electrification Coalition.
