Old World details meet modern luxury at this Rome property

Villa Borghese is within walking distance of major attractions, but far enough away if you need to escape the tourist fray for a few hours.
Rome is no stranger to Old World style, nor to modern and luxurious aesthetics. The two meet in a unique way at the Jumeirah Grand Hotel Via Veneto, however, where the bones of two 19th century buildings house bold, angular art deco styling and ornate details on the inside. The effect of the two styles creates a property that feels retro, modern and accessible, all at once.

One of the great benefits of a stay at the hotel is its location, on Via Veneto. The hotel is just a 15-minute drive away from the Colosseum as well as the Vatican, and is within walking distance of the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, and Rome’s high-end shopping streets.

Highlights of the property include fashion-forward art-deco design touches, such as a rooftop hangout and the glass ceiling of the lobby, over which water flows. Keep your eye out for the original 20th century artwork on display as well – works by Picasso and Miro can be found hanging on the wall in discreet places.

The hotel spa, Aqva, features a Vichy shower and pool, and the front desk controls mood lighting in the rooms that brings bold hues in for “color therapy.”

At the Magnolia restaurant, a Japanese chef with a Michelin star serves up Italian dishes three nights a week.
