Brighton by the Sea makes an ideal daytrip during a London vacation

England\’s seaside town of Brighton is only an hour outside of London by train, making it a perfect daytrip during a stay in the capital city.

Located just an hour outside of London by train, Brighton by the Sea is an ideal option for a pleasant and easy daytrip from London. Escape the city for a day and head to the English seaside, where regional delicacies, charming shops and luscious landscapes are all attainable in a 24-hour timeframe.

Brighton’s two main shopping areas are the Lanes south of North Street and the North Lanes. At the former, visitors will find winding streets filled with charming British vintage and bespoke shops. At the North Lanes, offerings include quirky clothing and home décor shops, bookstores, and cafes.

The Royal Brighton Pavilion is a must-see attraction, epitomizing the opulence, luxury and sophistication of historical Britain. Built as a royal residence by George, Prince of Wales, the pavilion’s exterior resembles the Taj Mahal.

For lunch, pay a visit to The Cricketers, especially for a Sunday roast. Options here include beef, chicken, lamb, or vegetarian nut loaf, served alongside vegetables and the famous Yorkshire pudding.

Brighton’s summer resort town atmosphere is perhaps best exemplified by the Brighton Pier, which extends into the English channel. Here, visitors will find the charming staples of such establishments, including fish and chips stands, arcade games, cotton candy, and rides.
