
While there are a lot of hotels and resorts available all over the globe, many travelers choose to stay in vacation homes. More privacy, extra space, home-like amenities, and a unique atmosphere are just some of the perks that come with a home rental. While many travelers choose to book their stays through Airbnb and similar companies, Marriott International getting in on the vacation rental market. They recently rolled out their Homes and Villas by Marriott International brand, an online marketplace to rent vacation homes.
Their new vacation rentals brand is hoping to provide more offerings to their guests. Currently, homes are available in select destinations throughout Europe and the Americas. All properties are carefully curated and managed by trusted property management teams. They must meet set high standards to be listed as a participating Homes and Villas property. Travelers can feel confident knowing that all properties have amenities like high-speed wi-fi, premium bath amenities, kitchen supplies, and premium linens and towels for added comfort and convenience. All day support is also available if there are any concerns or questions.
You can choose a destination and their dates to browse available properties online, just like with any other hotel or vacation rental property. A limited number of properties must be reserved by phone. There are currently around 2,000 premium and luxury homes available in more than 100 destinations. Marriott hopes to add more homes in new locations in the future. Marriott Bonvoy members will be able to earn and redeem points at Homes and Villas properties.

By creating this brand, Marriott is giving travelers more home rental booking options. It’ll be interesting to see if other hotel brands choose to join the homeshare market and what impact it may have on Airbnb’s success.
