Rooms at Hong Kong’s Peninsula hotel are receiving a makeover as part of the property’s 85th anniversary
The nearly $60 million guestroom design and enhancement is meant to invoke a timeless, classically contemporary look and feel aspiring to the luxurious style of yachts and private jets.
“Innovation is part of the tradition of this hotel,” said Chief Operating Officer Peter Boser. “This concept will usher in a new era of in-room comfort.”
The upgrades include new advances in in-room technology. Fully customized pre-set tablets are offered in one of five languages, enabling all facilities and information throughout the entire room to change to the selected language. Information includes restaurant menus, hotel services and city guides. Facilities control includes the ability to change the sound, television, privacy options, lighting, curtains, thermostat and more through the tablets.
