South East Touring Route: This route starts out in the urban laneways of Melbourne, before continuing on to the rolling hills, vineyards, and gourmet food of the Yarra Valley. Next up is Phillip Island, where visitors can see penguins and engage in water sports. From there, continue to Mornington Peninsula, where options include relaxing on the beach, wine tasting, and wildlife park tours. Finally, make your way back to Melbourne to enjoy more of the city’s various offerings.

Melbourne to Sydney Coastal Drive: Set out from cosmopolitan Melbourne on one of two coastal drives to Sydney. On the coastal route, enjoy dramatic landscapes, deserted surf beaches, and the pristine network of waterways that make up the Gippsland Lakes. Stops along the way can include Phillip Island, Wilsons Promontory National Park, Metung, Mallacoota, Narooma, and Jervis Bay. The inland route offers farm-fresh produce, crisp mountain air, and local gold rush history before meeting up with the beautiful coast. Sydney Melbourne Heritage Drive: Take in the local flavor along this route from Melbourne to Sydney, via the nation’s capital, Canberra. On your way from Melbourne to Bendigo, hunt for treasures at antique shops in the area’s villages and towns. From Bendigo, head to Echuca-Moama to visit the town that became bigger than Melbourne when gold was discovered in the mid-1800s. Next up on your journey is the trip to Albury Wondonga, with a cruise on the waters of the Murray River along the way. Don’t forget to visit the town of Yass for rural and adventure activities, before reaching Sydney.
