Two all-inclusive properties offer guests a rich amount of options
Together, RIU’s two Los Cabos properties offer a total of more then 1,500 rooms. Palace Cabo San Lucas skews to the higher-end of RIU resorts, targeting mostly couples. The five-star RIU Santa Fe, on the other hand, caters more to families and groups.
Rooms feature a tasteful design and all the traditional amenities of an all-inclusive resort. Beyond the rooms, however, is where guest options really abound. During the day, guests can take part in activities like organized games of beach volleyball and dance lessons, while nighttime entertainment ranges from themed shows and performances inspired by the likes of Michael Jackson, Broadwa,y and Las Vegas. Pacha, RIU’s dance club, offers late night fun from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. nightly.
Guests are also treated to a number of pools, as well as a multitude of dining options right on the property. At the RIU Palace, the Main Buffet and a Japanese restaurant are open to walk-ins for dinner, while three specialty restaurants require reservations, though they are still included in the cost of a stay. Options range from Krystal, serving fusion gourmet dining to a Mexican restaurant and a steak house. In addition, 24-hour room service is always available as an option.
RIU Palace guests have the added benefit of access to many of the amenities at RIU Santa Fe, though the reverse is not true. Winter prices for RIU Palace Cabo San Lucas begin at $159, while RIU Santa Fe rates start at $102 per night.
Though it’s easy to make a whole vacation out of the on-site RIU offerings, those looking to see some of the local area can easily take a taxi to downtown Cabo San Lucas, for about $6. The hotel also offers special excursions such as whale watching, swimming with whale sharks and tours to nearby La Paz.
